UGARITIC MATERIALS - In the late 1920's a Syrian farmer turned over some tablets while plowing a field. French archaeologists excavated the site and discovered the ancient city of Ugarit and many more tablets. Some of the tablets were religious texts which added greatly to scholars' knowledge of Canaanite religion.
